I work in lots of dark places and realized 10 years ago that when you have a light on your head it's always pointed where you need it. With both hands free! Been thru many incadesents - lots of batteries,too. 5 years ago Petzl came out with the Tiki - about 1 Watt of Led. Best light at the time, but $40! Then Petzl made a 3W w/the batteries at the back of your head - absolutely awesome brightness, but it was cumbersome and $100! FINALLY!! Home Depot started selling these about 3 years ago for $25 - BEST HEADLIGHT EVER. Bright, even light over about 30 degrees horizontally, and it's even a soft white that's not harsh, a nice bonus when used over hours. Three AAA batteries last about 5 Hours, the headband is comfortable, and the light itself is indestructable - I dropped one 40' onto concrete - still using it. I give these as presents to everyone I know, and they've been greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, Home Depot has stopped selling them! Bastards! Get 'em while you can!
